Lecture, Tutorial and Practical (L–T–P) Explained
L–T–P represents the weekly academic requirement of a subject as lectures, tutorials and practical sessions.
Lecture
Lecture periods normally represent classroom theory teaching. A subject with L = 3 requires three lecture periods in the relevant timetable cycle.
Tutorial
Tutorial periods can be scheduled separately when the curriculum specifies guided problem solving, discussion or smaller-group teaching.
Practical
Practical periods may require a laboratory, specialist resource, consecutive periods or a different faculty member. Keeping practical load separate makes these constraints easier to manage.
Using L–T–P in Quick Timetable
Subject Master defines the academic load. Faculty assignment belongs in Subject Distribution so the same subject can have different faculty for different components where required.
